Opry Superstars, CMA Award-Winners, Special Guests to Appear During the Grand Ole Opry's 74th Birthday Bash October 15 - 16

Opry members Diamond Rio, Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, Lorrie Morgan, Marty Stuart And Special Guests Trace Adkins, John Berry, Jo Dee Messina, Brad Paisley Make For Star-Studded Shows

Grand Ole Opry superstars, two recent CMA award-winners and hit-makers currently climbing the charts will perform during the Grand Ole Opry's 74th Birthday Bash October 15 - 16.

Performers to appear range from Loretta Lynn, a 37-year Opry member, to newcomer Brad Paisley, who made his Opry and chart debuts earlier this year. 1999 CMA award-winners Martina McBride (Female Vocalist) and Jo Dee Messina (Horizon Award) are also a part of the weekend's shows.

"It's been an amazing year for us," said Grand Ole Opry general manager Pete Fisher. The Opry has much to celebrate, and we're delighted that so many friends will join us for the fun."

Opry members Lynn, McBride, Lorrie Morgan and Marty Stuart as well as special guests Trace Adkins and Messina will appear during the Opry Birthday Bash Show at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. Adkins, McBride, Messina, Morgan and Stuart will appear on the evening's second show at 9:30 p.m. Opry members Diamond Rio and Lynn as well as special guests John Berry and Paisley will appear on the Friday Night Opry beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 15th Birthday Bash activities also include a performance of the Ryman Auditorium's Smoke On The Mountain.

A Grand Ole Opry Open House from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m Oct. 16th will provide visitors the opportunity to walk across the Opry stage, tour artists' dressing rooms, send fan mail at the Opry Post Office and visit with Opry favorites. Oct. 16th's activities also include the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Celebration at 2:30 p.m. Artists scheduled to perform are the Opry's Mike Snider and the Osborne Brothers, the Del McCoury Band, Mac Wiseman, the Larry Stephenson Band, and Dale Ann Bradley and Coon Creek.

Birthday Bash packages are $50 per person and include Smoke On The Mountain, the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Celebration and an Opry Birthday Bash show. Individual tickets for all events are also available. For more information, call 615/889-3060.
