Gaylord Entertainment Elects New Independent Director; Ellen Levine of Good Housekeeping Magazine Joins Gaylord Board Effective Immediately

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2004--Gaylord Entertainment Co. (NYSE:GET) has elected Ellen Levine, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping magazine, to its board of directors. Her election is effective immediately and she becomes the tenth member of the company's board.

"Ellen's consumer marketing experience in successfully leading major women's magazines will be an asset to our board of directors," said Colin V. Levine became the first woman to be named editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping in October 1994. Prior to her current role at the flagship publication of Hearst Magazines, Levine led two other well-regarded magazines as editor-in-chief, Redbook, from 1990-1994, and Woman's Day, from 1982-1990.

Levine has earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including the Writer's Hall of Fame Award for her lifestyle coverage, and the Matrix Award for exceptional achievement in the communications industry. Under her leadership, Good Housekeeping won the National Magazine Award in the category of Personal Service. She currently serves on the board of the New York Restoration project; Lifetime Television's board of directors; and the board of advisors of New York Women in Communications.
